RGE considers water treatment as ideally suited to the use of FRP because it is a structural engineering material with well defined thermal, mechanical and chemical resistance properties. FRP’s best performance is exactly in those conditions where steel is poor.

FRP easily resists most common water treatment chemicals including:

• Dilute acids
• Sodium hypochlorite
• Citric acid

• Antiscalant
• Hydrogen peroxide
  (Depends on concentration)
• Sodium hydroxide
