Typical lining systems include the following: Flake glass system
FRP system
Trowel system
These systems have been in use for over 30 years and have proven to be successful when installed correctly. The type of lining system and materials used can be varied to suit the site and chemical conditions ensuring optimum service life of the product. For all systems, the underlying surface, whether steel or concrete, needs to be properly prepared. This involves grit blasting to provide a mechanical bond between the lining system and substrate. If the concrete has been previously contaminated, pH testing needs to be completed to ensure all contamination is removed. Water content of a concrete surface needs to be measured also to ensure moisture does not affect the overlaid laminate. Special considerations need to be given at expansion joints and at any cracks in a concrete surface. |
